Join us as we celebrate the completion of the final phase of this project marked by the reveal of The Monarch and the Manatee, a “walking storybook” that educates visitors on local ecology through a story about a Monarch butterfly who meets a manatee. Written by resident Kate Dubikas and illustrated by local artist Evan Neidich, The Monarch and the Manatee project was funded by a grant through the Tampa Bay Estuary Program.
It has been a long journey converting an abandoned city lot and local trash dump into a thriving ocean friendly garden. All are invited to celebrate this great community achievement. There will be light refreshments, special guest speakers, and plenty of good conversation.
Come explore the completed story, learn a little about our Ocean Friendly Garden, and celebrate this new addition to the community with us!
